Synopsis

The chapter opens with Amboise reacting to Magenta's request for Princess Adeline to stay in their capital for six months, fearing it to be a hostage situation. Count Benjamin's initial support of the request, fueled by a "lie voucher", makes the King angry, but this is revealed to be part of a plan to build a relationship. The King begins to see the potential benefits of a close relationship with Magenta, particularly with a crown prince who seems ambitious, and this leads to a sudden shift in perspective. Meanwhile, there's also a secret operation occurring involving an important patient being admitted into the side palace, and one of the Amboise guards reflecting on their training.
