Synopsis

The chapter begins with a character confessing to using hergamorphine to cause diarrhea as revenge on a demanding superior. This substance is not illegal, and later the same character reveals they are skilled with poisons and could have used this knowledge to save another character from a serious poisoning. This knowledge is then used to begin to track the real culprit by examining who could have coated the poison to delay the effects. A new suspect emerges, and though the person being investigated is freed, the process is ongoing.
