Synopsis

The chapter details the protagonist's harsh ten-year experience in the Demon Corps, a unit composed of criminals and slaves. He was forced into this role after his noble Valt household was accused of rebellion against the Empire. We learn his motivation to survive was to eventually regain his freedom and restore his family name after his last mission. A separate faction, the Pendragon Household, is also hinted to be preparing for an event related to an oath.
