Synopsis

The group initially attempts a defensive formation, then switches to attacking with oil lamps, which are surprisingly effective at first against the tree-like monsters. However, the monsters prove more resilient, revealing a fleshy interior after being burned. The chapter ends with the heroes preparing for close-quarters combat against the changed monsters.
