Synopsis

The chapter opens with the group of lizardmen escaping from a canyon after encountering a monster. They explain to their saviors that they abandoned their homes in the nearby hills due to the appearance of a monstrous 'Abomination', a creature from a game lore with unique skills like venomous fangs. They describe how the monster forces them to flee, but Lakrak understands their plight. While considering longer, safer routes, Lakrak realizes that the blacksmith's method of increasing the brazier's heat might offer a tactical advantage by applying its simple principle in a different context.
