Synopsis

The chapter opens with the elves challenging the Spirit King for siding with a human who they accuse of destroying the World Tree and killing their mother. The Spirit King reveals the World Tree broke divine providence by leaving its tree, and its incarnation is not meant to wander far. Despite their initial rage and readiness to fight, the elves, led by Emilia, eventually surrender. Emilia faces scorn from her comrades who feel their sacrifices were in vain. The chapter ends with the World Tree beginning to revive, with the World Tree's incarnation mentioned as Yggdrasil.
