Synopsis

The chapter begins with the main character confronting a captured assassin, revealing his criminal background and hired purpose of killing the main characters, the 'Sword Empress'. It is later revealed that the group who approached them were a vicious scavenger party with nefarious motives. The main character, having deduced their ill intent, plans to feign ignorance and then launch a counterattack at the opportune moment. One of the scavengers reveals the group was hired to kill them, showing a conscience and prompting the main character to decide to spare him.
