Synopsis

The chapter reveals the reasoning behind Master Lloyd's seemingly strange actions: he dug a long ditch and created a relief image of a megalania, the mastodon's natural enemy. He uses these to redirect the stampeding herd into the ditch, avoiding a direct confrontation. Meanwhile, the white cavalry is ordered to make noise and kick up dust to further confuse the mastodons and distract from the redirect plan. The cavalry is also tasked with moving the civilians to the southeast of the territory to keep them out of harms way.
