Synopsis

Ed contracts with a low-rank fire spirit, Mug, and starts training with Janica to improve his spirit connection. Janica reveals her strong feelings towards Ed and pushes him towards personal growth, while also providing him with valuable resources and training. Meanwhile, Assistant Professor Claire is suspicious of Ed's involvement in the Ophis Hall incident and investigates the matter, while encountering a seemingly flirtatious Merchant. This chapter focuses on development of Ed's powers and character, while hinting at a deeper conspiracy.
