Synopsis

The protagonist is sent to a martial arts competition to scout a potential opponent, Dante Hairan. He finds the competition underwhelming, but ends up protecting a young noble who was targeted by assassins. The noble, grateful for being saved, pledges his life to protect the protagonist in return. It's revealed the assassins were hired by a pirate targeting nobles for money.
