Synopsis

The chapter starts with a meeting between the prince and Regent Dimra, where the prince expresses his annoyance with guards and hints at a loose-screwed princess. Later, the prince is informed that the internal warfare in Lagoche is over, and Floetor, the previous potentate, has lost power. Regent Dimra, a former potentate, has come out of retirement to protect the new, young potentate, implying a shift in the political landscape.
