Synopsis

The chapter begins with a flashback or internal monologue about payment and consequences, before introducing Kalix, the brother of Rosalyn. Kalix meets Macaron, revealing her dual nature as both a large eagle and a small mouse which surprises him and leads to some lighthearted banter. The chapter touches on the presence of demonic humans in the border region, and closes with a solemn speech on enduring hardships and protecting what's precious, delivered amidst a cold and dark setting, potentially hinting at a future challenge or arc for the characters.
