Synopsis

Having become a child again, the protagonist is subjected to violence from the Visenna, who are initially hostile toward the test administrator. However, after passing the test, the protagonist finds themselves in a study session about imperial history and the pros and cons of empirical vs. military rule. The protagonist contemplates their changing personality and begins to analyze the political landscape, considering how to best rule a land of criminals. They are internally conflicted about who to support as ruler of the country, given the status based society they now reside in.
