Aheliman, the old shaman, reveals his malicious plan to infect his tribe with the Red Death, intending to then cure them with a special antidote and be hailed as a hero. However, Vikir arrives at the catchment area with a cure and exposes Aheliman's past and his treachery. With his genuine cure, Vikir heals the infected and is able to win the favor of multiple tribes by sharing the cure and proving himself to be a hero.
The chapter reveals Aheliman's plan to infect his tribe with the Red Death to then cure them and become a hero, but Vikir arrives with the real cure and exposes his scheme. Vikir uses this to unite and gain the respect of multiple tribes.
