Synopsis

The chapter begins with the protagonist receiving payment for his recent work and immediately heading to the hospital to see a friend. While there he interacts with her family and receives cryptic advice from an older woman. Later, he learns her condition is terminal and grapples with his helplessness, resolving to become stronger to overcome future obstacles. The chapter ends with the protagonist returning from the tower laden with crystals after having rapidly progressed through many floors.
