Synopsis

Duke Howard makes a public display of insulting Luwellin, formerly the Emperor's enemy, as a performative act of loyalty, despite being aware of the surveillance. This stunt raises suspicions about his true intentions, prompting others, including Lord Karmel, to increase vigilance on both Howard and Luwellin. Meanwhile, it's revealed that Luwellin, a disgraced former prince, is now in a pathetic state, prompting reflection by Howard and others on his downfall, and that Luwellin might not be alone in being approached by people.
