Synopsis

A slave is being beaten by his owner, Baron Guillaume, when a crow-like figure intervenes, offering to buy the slave. Marquis Namiel appears, scolding the Baron for abusing his power. He reveals his identity and authority as a noble, using it to negotiate for the slave's freedom, with the apparent assistance of a Royal Magician, Mirdin. The chapter ends with the slave being taken away to recover, seemingly having been rescued by these powerful figures.
