Synopsis

The chapter opens with the protagonist evading capture, during which he unknowingly uses an incredibly rare combination of ice and lightning magic. He reflects on his situation and the need to blend into his new surroundings within a magical academy. After locating a hidden stash of funds, he is confronted by the challenge of crossing a chasm, where he is observed by a group of mages who are also struggling to comprehend his unusual abilities. His unusual abilities are the subject of discussion between the watching mages.
