Synopsis

The chapter opens with the aftermath of a fight where the Emperor's seemingly erratic behavior is questioned. Later, the Duke confronts the Emperor, subtly implying his inadequacy and suggesting he pass the crown. The Emperor, despite appearing aloof, is aware of the Duke's power and motives but doesn't outright reject him, instead focusing on the growing danger posed by the demons and initiating a rumor campaign to sow distrust between humans and demons. He is shown to be more calculating and aware than he appears.
