Synopsis

This chapter focuses on Mu Jin's wall-facing punishment, which he surprisingly shares with Abbot Hyun Chun. Hyun Chun cleverly utilizes the chanting of mixed Buddhist scriptures to secretly convey martial arts techniques to Mu Jin. Simultaneously, Hyun Gwang, acknowledging the stagnation within the Shaolin Temple, places his faith in Mu Jin and breaks tradition by offering him meat. This sets the stage for a unique form of training within the confines of punishment, highlighting the theme of change and breaking away from rigid rules for the greater good.
