Synopsis

The chapter opens with Encríd experiencing a brutal death by a sword through the throat, an event that repeats several times. He reflects on his lack of talent, his demotion to a squad leader of 'dimwits', and his unfulfilled dreams, believing this death to be his end. However, he experiences what appears to be a time loop, finding a bug in his boot both before and after the repeated death.
