Synopsis

Rumors circulate about Duke Pendragon's alleged pact with a white dragon and his ability to command orcs and gryphons. The chapter then transitions to a party hosted by Governor Segunda, where Pendragon and his entourage are greeted. During the party, characters discuss Segunda's long-standing proposal to the Duchess and the mysterious Knight Vincent. The chapter concludes with Pendragon arriving at the party, and introductions are made with undertones of politicking and potential conflict.
