Synopsis

Ed James, a mage, is approached by Evelyn, a city government agent, who recognizes his unique mana pattern and informs him of a large-scale inspection in the outer districts targeting tax evasion. Meanwhile, Ed's former employers discuss the plan's failure, due to an apparent traitor within their group. Ed also begins researching magic patterns to create his own spells, and later encounters Evelyn again, realizing how perceptive she is.
