Synopsis

The chapter opens with a discussion about a test scarecrow that was completely destroyed, a feat attributed to only a handful of high-level hunters. It's revealed that the protagonist, who is unaware of rank updates, is the one who destroyed it. He learns about hunter rankings and how his lack of updates has resulted in high tax rates on his earnings. He is then directed to update his rank with a close-combat test involving attacking the very scarecrow he previously destroyed.
