Synopsis

The chapter opens with the mercenaries realizing they've been spotted by the border patrol, who are under orders to find a missing blue-eyed boy (the prince). To avoid a direct confrontation with the larger garrison, they plan to send the prince ahead with a small escort while the rest of the group, disguised, misleads the border patrol into thinking they are the target. The chapter ends with the border patrol, led by the Margrave of Orkel, beginning their search, highlighting the political implications of the prince's disappearance.
