Synopsis

The chapter focuses on the artist's past, revealing his connection to the village destroyed by the noble. He recounts how a noble, desiring a young woman's spiritual powers, orchestrated a massacre when the villagers tried to stop her marriage. The woman, named Esmeralda, retaliated with fire magic, before the artist lost his eyesight. The artist shares this history to gain trust, before asking for help in saving Esmeralda and another girl he believes to be suffering, also hinting that the kingdom's decline was caused by this event and its cover up.
